Insurance Information

Insurance for Mental Health Challenges

In order to use your insurance for therapy sessions, you will need to have a diagnosable mental health disorder. Many times, personal challenges are not about a specific diagnosis, however, for an insurance company to cover a therapy session a diagnosis must be labeled for payment. A person seeking therapeutic support may consider this before using insurance for therapy sessions due to this requirement and the potential effect it could have on future medical decisions and insurance policies. Once insurance is used for therapy, the insurance company has access to personal records and has the ability for some decision-making power over progress and continued payment for services. It is ETS’ belief this should be left up to the client and the therapist to determine, (Clients are given an invoice after every session and can determine if they would like to submit it to their insurance for possible reimbursement.)

Insurance for Chemical Dependency Assessments

Chemical assessments that are needed due to legal interventions (DUI, domestic altercations, etc..) are often not covered by insurance, therefore ETS does not currently accept insurance. It is often suggested, clients not to use insurance for chemical evaluations as they will then become part of your permanent medical record, which could lead to potential increase in rates or rejection by future carriers. Medical records could also become problematic if any involvement in a court case, a custody situation, or applying for life insurance- It is suggested to evaluate your circumstances before you use your insurance for chemical assessments.

Payment

Cash, check, Venmo, and major credit cards are accepted for payment. (A 3% fee is added to each credit card transaction) and often split payments are available based on financial need for services.
